Dick's Sporting Goods has expanded its House of Sport in-store experience banner with nine new locations in seven states.

With more than 100,000 square feet, House of Sport locations provide customers with a large assortment of products, including private brands, along with in-store experiences including a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackManTM simulators, and multi-sport cages that can be used for baseball, softball, lacrosse and soccer. The installations give customers an opportunity to try products while measuring and tracking their performance.

The new stores opened in the following communities in July and August:

  • Katy, Texas at The Shops at Park West (24600 Katy Fwy Ste 1100, Katy, TX 77494)
  • Baybrook, Texas at Baybrook Mall (18650 Gulf Fwy, Friendswood, TX 77546)
  • Davenport, Iowa at Davenport Commons (5511 Elmore Avenue A, Davenport, IA 52807)
  • Champaign, Ill. at Market Place Shopping Ctr (2000 N Neil St, Ste 2000, Champaign, IL 61820)
  • Chesapeake, Va. at Greenbrier Square (1501 Sentinel Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320)
  • Fayetteville, N.C. at Freedom Town Center (2741 Freedom Pkwy Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28314)
  • Latham, N.Y. at Latham Farms (579 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Latham, NY 12110)
  • Scranton, Pa. at Viewmont Mall (440 Viewmont Mall, Scranton, PA 18508)
  • Johnson City, N.Y. at Oakdale Commons (629 Harry L Dr, Johnson City, NY 13790)

House of Sport stores also focus on deep integration with the local community through partnerships and events, according to Dick's. Some locations have a field attached to the store that can be used for open play, clinics, league space or as an ice rink in the winter.

Each grand opening kicked off with an activity-filled weekend to help celebrate the launch of House of Sport in the local communities, including in-store and parking lot activities and games, mystery gift card giveaways and sweepstakes, and celebrity athlete appearances to commemorate the grand openings.

"These grand openings have been a superb way to introduce the House of Sport store to our customers in these markets," said Toni Roeller, senior vice president of In-Store Environment, Visual Merchandising and House of Sport. "It's exciting that the feedback from customers has been so positive and the communities see the stores as a destination. We're equally excited about bringing House of Sport to more communities in 2024 and beyond."

Dick's anticipates opening between 75 to 100 House of Sport stores by 2027.
