Diamond Wipes International Receives WBENC Certification
Chino, Calif.-based Diamond Wipes International, a manufacturer of private label wet wipes, announced that in August it received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by The Women’s Business Enterprise Council West, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
WBENCs auditing and evaluation processes are extensive, comprising two main components, explained Diamond Wipes International. First, all legal and financial documents need to prove that the business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women. Second, on-site visits and interviews are conducted with the owner and team members to verify that the woman (or women) in question is involved with the daily operations and decision-making process of the business.
“As a woman who immigrated to the U.S. 20 years ago, I’m proud that I was able to start my own company and continue to manufacture our products in the United States,” said Eve Yen, founder and president, Diamond Wipes. “Today we produce over 2.2 million wet wipes daily. We have two facilities, in California and Ohio.
“Supporting each other is essential to success,” she added. “By joining WBENC, I’m looking forward to working with corporate members and supporting] other woman-owned businesses to achieve more success in todays competitive business landscape.”
By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies, WBENC and its regional partners demonstrate a commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs, the company explained. Additionally, WBENC emphasizes opportunities and resources for certified women-owned businesses, and it encourages these businesses to form partnerships and develop a collective network.
