Delhaize Group, Ahold expect merger to be finalized in July

Delhaize Group, Brussels, and Koninklijke Ahold N.V., Zaandam, the Netherlands, said they expect their merger to be complete before the end of July, subject to regulatory approval by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

On June 24, 2015, Ahold and Delhaize announced their intention to merge. The shareholders' meetings of both companies approved the merger in March. The Belgian Competition Authority granted its conditional approval for the merger in March. FTC clearance is the final regulatory approval requirement for the merger to complete.
