Core Solutions to assist Safeway's global sourcing operations

Core Solutions, Scotch Plains, N.J., said it signed an agreement with Safeway Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., to implement Core’s CBX Enterprise software to support the retailer’s global sourcing and direct import operations.

The CBX Extended PLM system will help Safeway streamline sourcing, ordering, logistics and finance services, according to Core Solutions. The system will automate the tendering process and assist in order planning and execution. CBX also will support Safeway in managing its supplier onboarding, quality assurance and shipment inspections.
