Circle K Acquires Hutch's Convenience Store Chain
Circle K Stores is expanding its footprint in the Midwest with the acquisition of the convenience and retail gas assets of Hutchinson Oil Co. The deal includes 20 convenience stores and travel centers located in western Oklahoma and southern Kansas.
News of the transaction was reported by Convenience Store News, a sister publication of Store Brands.
With the sale of its convenience stores and travel centers, the Hutchinson family has exited the fuel industry. The company sold its delivered fuel business to Hampel Oil Distributors in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Hutchinson was founded in 1969 by Ross Hutchinson. In the 1990s, his son David was named president and was focused on expanding the Hutch’s brand by building large convenience stores and travel centers focused on consumer traffic and professional drivers.
