Chocolate Works has acquired Thompson Chocolate.

Chocolate Works, a manufacturer of private label and branded chocolate products, has acquired Thompson Chocolate, a Meriden, Ct.-based manufacturer of specialty and foil-wrapped chocolate novelties.

Founded in 1879, Thompson is known for its high-quality foil-wrapping capabilities across a wide variety of chocolate formats, which is unique in the U.S. market.

"We are thrilled to welcome Thompson to the Chocolate Works platform," said Joe Whaley, founder and vice chairman of Chocolate Works. “Thompson significantly expands our private label and co-manufacturing production capabilities and expands our branded offerings, creating new opportunities to deliver exceptional value and quality to retailers and consumers."

"We're incredibly excited to join forces with the Chocolate Works organization,” said Steve Gollob, CEO of Thompson. “This partnership enables us to continue delivering for our clients while expanding our offerings to include bars, truffles cocoa bombs, and enrobed chocolate snacks in a wide range of packaging formats."

Gollob is credited with expanding Thompson's capacity and product portfolio while building upon the company's centuries-old tradition of providing customers with quality chocolate products.
