Chewy Launches CarePlus Insurance and Wellness Plans

The online pet retailer that offers private brand products is expanding its health and wellness options for pets.

E-commerce pet retailer Chewy has expanded its insurance and wellness offerings with CarePlus. In addition to Chewy’s private brand products, pet parents now have a comprehensive pet health offering available to purchase for their animals.

Available in 31 states with plans to expand towards the end of the year, CarePlus includes 24/7 access to Chewy’s customer care team for those seeking education on insurance, the ability to instantly connect with licensed veterinarians through Chewy’s award-winning telehealth service, Connect with a Vet and 100% of costs covered for eligible prescription medication, supplement and veterinary diet food purchases on Chewy.com.

Chewy says its new offering will increase the number of insured pets and ensure the “best care possible” when needed.

The wellness plans start at $20 a month and cover preventative care such as annual exams, vaccines and parasiticides. Insurance plans start at $20, $60 or $100 a month and provide pet parents with financial ease and peace of mind from accidents, unexpected illnesses and surgeries. Insurance and wellness plans can be bundled together.
