Representatives from Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) will discuss the regional retailer's unique cross-functional approach for connecting with the multicultural consumer in an Aug. 14 presentation during this year's Multicultural Retail 360 Summit. The summit will be held Aug. 12-14 in Anaheim, Calif.
With more than 150 stores in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, BGC said it recognizes the importance of connecting, engaging and building trust with the multicultural consumer. Recent research indicates some 30 percent of the company’s fleet consists of high-density Hispanic stores, and 49 percent are high-density African American stores. BGC is focused on reaching these specific consumer segments through a corporate initiative that involves a cross-functional team consisting of representatives from HR, category management, operations and marketing.
This session will share the strategy used to attract specific consumer segments and candidly discuss both gaps and best practices. BGC speakers will include Juan Cruz, multicultural category manager; Rubi Hurtado, training and development specialist; and Ivette Zavarce, multicultural marketing coordinator.
