Brookshire Grocery Co. donates private brand water for Louisiana flood victims

Brookshire Grocery Co., Tyler, Texas, said it donated a truckload of its own Super 1 Foods brand water to the American Red Cross in Lafayette, La. The 40,000-bottle donation is the retailer's second water donation to be delivered to the American Red Cross for the Louisiana flood victims.

Last week, Brookshire Grocery Co. delivered a truckload of gallon-size water bottles to Abbeville, La., to help with relief efforts there. Super 1 Foods store directors also distributed 300,000 disposable plates, which were donated by Republic Plastics, the retailer said.

“Flooding in Louisiana has been disastrous for so many citizens, and we wanted to make these donations to help people who are right here in our Super 1 Foods trade area,” said Mike Terry, executive vice president – retail operations for Brookshire Grocery Co.
