Bell Flavors & Fragrances facility obtains ISO 22716 recertification
Bell Flavors & Fragrances, headquartered in Northbrook, Ill., said it obtained re-certification of ISO 22716 for its manufacturing facility in Middletown, N.Y. This certification applies not only to the botanical manufacturing area, but also includes liquid fragrance and spray dry fragrance. Bell said it received high marks with only two small non-conformances.
ISO 22716:2007 gives guidelines for the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic ingredients, the company said. These guidelines cover the quality aspects of Bell's products and are the basis of its quality management system for liquid fragrances, spray dry/plated fragrances and botanical extracts.
“This auditing scheme was initially undertaken to comply with customer requirements," said Crystal Avant, manager, quality systems for the Middletown facility. "In previous years, Bell expanded the scope to include all fragrance products along with botanical products to ensure every aspect our manufacturing systems are covered by quality systems.”
In addition to the ISO 22716, Bell said its Middletown facility obtained certification of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 7.2 Level 3 to include butter flavor production and aroma chemical resale products.
“Achieving this ISO recertification with only a few minor non-conformances, in conjunction with our SQF certification, reinforces Bell’s commitment to providing only the best-quality and service to our customers," said Tim Cunningham, vice president for the Middletown site. "Each year, our quality systems have improved, and we expect this trend will continue in the future.”
