Arcade Beauty has set near term and long term sustainability goals.
As Arcade Beauty celebrates its 10th anniversary, the company is also setting short term and long term sustainability goals in an effort to evolve its effort to become a more Earth-friendly product supplier.
Among its sustainability-focused objectives, the company by 2025 is looking to have 100% of its products have a recyclable alternative, be water-soluble or compostable, and offer at least 75% integrated recycled or certified material. By 2030, company officials said Arcade will no longer manufacture non-recyclable products, whether the items or samples or full-sized items.
“As a global industrial company, we are committed to providing sustainable solutions through our deep manufacturing and packaging expertise to support the needs of the Beauty Industry,” said Carl Allain, CEO of Arcade Beauty.
To reach these goals, the company is focused on Eco-Design: improving product packaging to reduce their impact on the environment - reducing packaging weight and developing reusable and refill solutions.
In the first quarter of 2024, Arcade Beauty has unveiled five eco-friendly technologies. The latest addition to their environmentally conscious lineup is the Paper-Based Samples collection, offering beauty brands four eco-friendly sampling alternatives for makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrance. This launch includes the redesign of four of Arcade's technologies with paper-based laminates:
- 90% Paper BeautiPod®
- 76% Paper Thermoform
- 48% Paper ScentSeal®
- 63% Paper Packette (80% Paper is currently in development)
The company also recently partnered with B Corp certified brand, Nécessaire, on the production of two Paper Packettes, made with 63% paper, to promote their Body Wash and Body Serum.
Additionally, Arcade Beauty has iterated on the 2021 launch of its resealable 3D Pouch and pioneered the industry's first true refill packaging solution for full-size products, the Single-Use 3D Refill Pouch, which is available with a breakable closure in fully recyclable mono material.
“Providing shoppers with a recyclable refill option for full-sized products is certainly a step in the right direction – it will help to reduce rigid packaging and in turn significantly reduce carbon emissions,” said Lindsey Khosla, marketing director at Arcade Beauty. “The package will also encourage shopper education on the purpose of refill packaging.”
The Single-Use 3D Pouch allows the original packaging to be preserved for multiple uses, marking a significant leap forward in sustainable practices.
