Aphena Pharma Solutions expands capabilities

Contract packaging and manufacturing company Aphena Pharma Solutions, is giving its bottling facility an upgrade. The Cookeville, Tenn.-based company has purchased a high-speed solid-dose bottling line with an integrated cartoner that it said will be available for new business May 1. 

Aphena said that the new line would be dedicated to packaging solid-dose OTC products for both its private label and branded offerings. The new line offers the company additional capacity for between 15 million and 20 million bottles annually. 

“We’ve installed this new line for growth capacity so that we can continue to stay ahead of our current and future customers’ needs,” said Eric Allen, Aphena’s executive vice president of sales. “It will allow Aphena to maintain a 50% capacity level for any new projects or surge capacity requirements.”
