A&P could be filing for bankruptcy

According to a July 15 New York Post online article, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. (A&P), Montvale, N.J., could be filing for bankruptcy as early as this week. Sources told the New York Post that A&P hired Evercore Partners, an investment bank that specializes in selling assets, and that its filing could be a “prepackaged” bankruptcy, which could divvy up the company’s best locations.
