Angelic Bakehouse’s sprouted seven-grain bread now Non-GMO Project Verified

10/20/2015

Angelic Bakehouse, Milwaukee, a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certified bakery specializing in sprouted grain products, said it received Non-GMO Project Verified status for its best-selling product: sprouted seven-grain bread. The Non-GMO Project is North America’s only third-party source for verification and labeling of non-GMO food and products.

The private label supplier said it expects the remainder of its product line — including wraps, flatbreads and buns — to be Non-GMO Project Verified by the end of 2015. The company's branded sprouted seven-grain bread’s distinctive “Smart & Good Looking” packaging will begin carrying the Non-GMO Project Verified seal later this month.

“Angelic Bakehouse is all about creating pure bread perfection — using the purest non-GMO ingredients and crafting them into something better through our unique sprouted grain mash process,” said Jenny Marino, CEO and president, Angelic Bakehouse. “We’ve always insisted on using non-GMO ingredients, but the verification process is another way for us to be transparent.”
