Seattle-based Amazon is finally about to fulfill its goal and promise to consumers that it will be able to make home deliveries through the use of drones.

According to CNN Business, the online retailer claims that its package deliveries will be fulfilled with the use of drones beginning within the next few months. According to the article, the company developed a new drone that combines the behavior of a plane with that of a helicopter.

"We're not saying all our shipments will be on drones, but the opportunity is tremendous," said Jeff Wilke, Amazon's CEO of worldwide consumer, during the company’s Mars artificial intelligence conference in Las Vegas last week, according to CNN Business.

The company did not specify where the deliveries would take place, or how many drones are in the fleet.
