Amazon amps up sales of Whole Foods store brand items

9/29/2017

Since completing the acquisition of Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods Market, Amazon.com has sold roughly $1.6 million in Whole Foods’ store brand products, FoxBusiness.com reported today. Whole Foods’ store brands include 365 Everyday Value, Whole Foods Market, Engine 2 Plant-Strong and Whole Trade.

Snacks and candy accounted for 19 percent of Whole Foods sales on Amazon, followed by frozen fruit and vegetables, according to the article. Coconut water and deli turkey breast were the top-selling individual items online.

“The 365 [Everyday Value] private label has probably some of the strongest brand equity in the nation,” Diana Sheehan, director of retail insight for Kantar Retail, told FoxBusiness.com.
