ALDI sued for private label soy milk

Batavia, Ill.-based ALDI is being sued for its private label vanilla-flavored Simply Nature soy milk for misleading its consumers. 

According to Legal Newsline, a media outlet, the suit was filed against ALDI in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Oct. 10 alleging fraud, unjust enrichment and other counts.

“The front label representations of ‘vanilla’ are misleading because the products (1) contain an insufficient amount of vanilla to independently characterize the products and (2) the non-vanilla component of the ‘natural flavor’ does not simulate or resemble vanilla,” the lawsuit states, according to the article.
