Aldi is celebrating the grand opening of new stores in Ohio and Illinois on February 15.

Aldi is hitting the midway point of February with the opening of two new stores that will expand the grocer’s presence in the midwest.

Residents of Elyria, Ohio, will have access to a new store at 38275 Chestnut Ridge Road that replaces the existing store at 426 Oberlin Road. The new store officially opened its doors on Wednesday, February 7.

“We are eager to provide local shoppers with a revamped and refreshed ALDI store, designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier,” said Corey Stucker, Hinckley regional vice president for Aldi. “We are always looking out for the needs of our shoppers and decided to move our Elyria store to allow more room for added fresh, high-quality products at affordable prices, which our loyal shoppers know and love.”

The grocer is also expanding its footprint in Illinois with the opening of its first store in Belleville, which is located in the southern part of the state just to the east of St. Louis.

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier,” said Rob Jeffries, O’Fallon vice president for Aldi. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Belleville and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”

Both stores will be holding a grand opening celebration on Thursday, February 15. To celebrate, the first 100 customers at each store will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of Aldi Fan Favorites products and a gift card as part of the Aldi Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes during the grand opening weekend February 15 through February 18 for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card.
