The smaller ALDI concept will sell 300 fewer items than a regular ALDI store and will be about 6,400 square feet.
Aldi has confirmed it will expand a trial of its new Local concept in the United Kingdom in response to positive customer feedback since it launched the concept earlier this year.
The retail giant will open a new ALDI Local store in Camden on June 27. The smaller store will sell 300 fewer items than a regular ALDI store and will be about 6,400 square feet.
According to the U.K. publication Retail Gazette, existing Aldi stores in Archway, Eastcote, Kingston, Kilburn, Tooting and Romford will be converted to the new Local format.
A spokesperson told the publication that the feedback ALDI has received since the first Local store opened in Balham has been “very positive.”
