Aldi Expands Presence in New York's Capital District

The discount grocer on April 6 is opening its first store in the community of Troy.

Residents of New York’s Capital District will soon have another option when grocery shopping as Aldi will open its first location in Troy at 662 Hoosick Road.

With a grand opening scheduled for Thursday, April 6, the newest Aldi location is among more than 1,000 new stores the grocer has opened over the past decade. 

Shoppers visiting the store during its grand opening weekend from April 6 through April 9 can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card 

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for six years running,” said Aaron Sumida, Tully regional vice president for Aldi. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Troy and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”

Aldi sells mostly exclusive brands and shoppers in the new Troy store will find food for every taste and lifestyle (gluten-free, plant-based, dairy alternatives, etc.) along with a large cheese selection. Shoppers will also discover weekly offerings of limited-time Aldi Finds like candles, seasonal food, home goods and more.

The grocery offers shoppers a Twice as Nice Guarantee offer a replacement and refund for any item a customer finds less than satisfactory.
