Ahold to shift some warehouse operations to C&S Wholesale

According to a Jan. 14 BuffaloNews.com article, Ahold USA, Carlisle, Pa., said it plans to close two warehouses and eliminate 600 jobs in western New York by August. According to the retailer, Keene, N.H.-based C&S Wholesale Grocers has locations in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts that are more centrally located within the markets reached by Ahold's retail divisions, including Giant Landover, Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro and Giant Carlisle.
