Affiliated Foods Midwest, Associated Wholesale Grocers agree to merge

Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. (AWG), Kansas City, Kan., and Norfolk, Neb.-based Affiliated Foods Midwest Cooperative Inc. (AFM) have agreed to merge the two cooperatives’ distribution businesses. Members of both co-ops will be AWG members. Operations will cover a majority of the United States, excluding the Northeast and West Coast.
