ADM to open new East Coast flavor innovation facility

10/2/2015

Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM), a Chicago-based agricultural processor and food ingredient provider, said it will open a state-of-the-art flavor creation, application and customer service facility October. The 15,700-square-foot site will be located in Cranbury, N.J., and encompass lab, office and meeting space —including dedicated lab space for mint and oral care products — and will house a staff of flavorists and applications technologists.

"Our customers expect a lot from working with the premier flavor company in the world, and this facility will help us continue to meet — and exceed — their needs," said Ken Campbell, president of ADM’s WILD Flavors business.

ADM also announced an agreement to purchase Eatem Foods Co., a Vineland, N.J.-based developer and producer of premium traditional, natural and organic savory flavor systems.

“We’re accelerating our evolution from an ingredient supplier to a complete solutions provider by systematically building and acquiring capabilities to meet a wide range of customer needs,” said Vince Macciocchi, president of ADM’s WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients business unit. "Last year’s addition of Specialty Commodities Inc. added capabilities in ancient grains and expanded our nut and seed offering. … We’ll be able to even better serve our customers and the growing market for savory flavor blends with Eatem’s renowned combination of culinary expertise and technical know-how."
