Academy Sports & Outdoors Opening Second Virginia Store

Academy Sports + Outdoors is opening its second location in Virginia at 1320 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg.

The store, offering more than 77,000-square-feet of space, offers a wide assortment of sports and outdoors merchandise. This is the sixth store Academy has opened in 2023 as the sporting goods retailer continues moving forward with its expansion efforts that calls for the opening of between 120 to 140 new stores by the end of 2027.

"Academy Sports + Outdoors is excited to continue bringing even more fun to the state of Virginia as we expand to Fredericksburg," said Sam Johnson, Academy's executive vice president of Retail Operations. "Our wide assortment has something for everyone, whether you are a first-time angler looking for a rod and reel, an avid runner in need of new shoes, or a little leaguer gearing up for gameday."

Shoppers can expect to find an assortment of athletic and casual shoes, sports and outdoors equipment, and clothing from national brands along with a broad selection of exclusive, private label brands such as Magellan Outdoors, Freely, R.O.W., BCG, H2OX, Redfield, and Mosaic. Academy’s private brands cover outdoor apparel and equipment, women's and men's apparel, workout attire, fishing equipment, hunting optics and accessories, and outdoor furniture, respectively.
