Academy Sports + Outdoors Expands Kentucky Presence

Academy Sports + Outdoors is expanding its store count with the opening of a new location in Lexington, Ky.

The 80,000-square foot store is the sixth for Academy in the Bluegrass State and the fifth of nine new stores the company expects to open in 2022. Plans over the next five years call for Academy to open 80 to 100 locations. 

The store will feature an assortment of athletic and casual shoes, sports and outdoors equipment and clothing from well-known national brands. Academy also provides its customers with everyday value and quality through its exclusive, private label brands such as Magellan Outdoors, Freely, R.O.W., BCG, H2O Xpress, Mosaic and O'Rageous, which cover outdoor apparel and equipment, women's and men's apparel, workout attire, fishing equipment, outdoor furniture and water sports gear, respectively.
