AAK completes acquisition of California Oils

AAK, a Malmo, Sweden-based manufacturer of specialty vegetable fats and oils, said it completed its acquisition of Richmond, Calif.-headquartered California Oils Corp. (CalOils), effective Aug. 31. AAK’s fourth U.S. production site, CalOils will be consolidated into two AAK business areas: Food Ingredients and Chocolate & Confectionery Fats.

The acquired business, which employs 65 people, had revenues of approximately U.S. $160 million last year and a volume of roughly 110,000 metric tons, AAK said.
