7-Eleven on the fast track to cashierless
Dallas-based 7-Eleven is showing its consumers that it is all about convenience by officially rolling out its Mobile Checkout feature in select New York City (NYC) locations.
According to Engadget, a media outlet for technology news, the company’s latest convenience addition, which was first tested out in Dallas, uses the company’s mobile app to scan any product with a barcode and buy it on the spot, no store staff required -- the only extra step is scanning a QR code at a "confirmation station" to let the store know that you're not shoplifting.
