Renton, Wash.-based Distant Lands Coffee and its green coffee trading division, La Minita, said that Second Cup Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario, honored the company as its 2014 Supplier of the Year. This is the second time Distant Lands, a private label supplier, has received Second Cup’s Supplier of the Year award. It previously won the award in 2000.
“We’ve had a wonderful relationship with Second Cup for 22 years and are very grateful to receive this award,” said Russ Kramer, president of La Minita. “We feel that our passion for producing and sourcing the finest coffees in the world is directly in line with Second Cup’s mission to serve the highest-quality coffee to all their customers.”

“Distant Lands and La Minita have consistently been one of our top partners, and this award was earned by their willingness to go above and beyond in supplying us with exceptional coffee,” said Alix Box, president and CEO of The Second Cup Ltd. “Distant Lands is an incredibly important part of our premium coffee experience, including providing us with coffee from their renowned Hacienda La Minita Plantation, which I had the pleasure of visiting recently.
