Dollar Tree names U.S. Xpress dedicated carrier of the year
U.S. Xpress Enterprises, a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based provider of transportation services throughout North America, said it has been honored as Dollar Trees 2012 dedicated carrier of the year. This distinction is based on the companys “exceptional performance” servicing the retailers Berwick, Pa., distribution center, which is serviced by U.S. Xpress. The award, given to one of Dollar Trees distribution sites annually, recognizes excellence in a wide range of relevant key performance indicators, including on-time service performance, tractor utilization, claims, surge support, customer service, productivity and overall efficiency.
U.S. Xpress said it provides dedicated carriage services to all three of the Chesapeake, Va.-based retailers nine distribution centers, leveraging the retailers vast retail JIT direct-store driver unload delivery experience and scalable capacity for volume surges, to meet the retail giants transportation needs. U.S. Xpress employs approximately 135 drivers at the Berwick site making deliveries throughout the Northeast.
U.S. Xpress added that Dollar Trees Savannah, Ga., distribution center, which the company manages, placed second in this years distribution center rankings.
