Aldi U.S. expands home delivery after successful pilot program with Instacart

3/12/2018

In partnership with Instacart, Batavia, Ill.-based Aldi now offers online grocery ordering and home delivery to residents across Chicagoland, in northwest Indiana and as far west as Rockford, Ill. Instacart will deliver Aldi’s own-brand products in as little as an hour, the company stated.

“We are committed to saving people time and money, no matter how they shop for groceries,” said Aldi CEO Jason Hart in a press release. “The response to our Instacart pilot in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles was overwhelmingly positive, and with nearly 200 Chicago-area stores, it only makes sense to bring online delivery to this major market.”

First-time Instacart customers in the new delivery areas can take advantage of $20 off, plus free delivery of their first order of $35 or more with code LOVEALDI through May 31, 2018, according to the press release.

Aldi operates more than 1,750 U.S. stores in 35 states. Founded in 2012, San Francisco-based Instacart serves more than 210 markets across North America.
